In the first decade of operation for Amarina Farm (established 2006), the farm has produced many top quality racehorses, including Gr1 winners Sheidel, Super Cool, Gallica, and The Heckler, as well as recent group winners Property, Catkins, Artistry, Wowee, Brillant Bisc, and Gr1-placed stakes winner Aeronautical.

The majority of their graduates were sold through yearling sales, and Amarina Farm has a great strike rate from the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale with the likes of Catkins, Super Cool, Testamezzo, Aeronautical, Gallica, and Shamllion all going through their Gold Coast drafts.

Amarina Farm will present 18 yearlings at the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale with a wide range of sires for all buyers to select from. The headline lot on paper must be Lot 782, a half-sister to Gr1 winner Griante, by first season sire Brazen Beau, and with both parents of this filly being Gr1 sprinters, there is plenty to like about this pedigree without considering that the dam of Griante and Lot 782 is a half-sister to Gr1 winner Grand Journey and stakes winner Proliferate.

A half-sister to Gr3 winner Take Pride is Lot 288, by proven sire Written Tycoon out of a winning half-sister to multiple Gr1 winner Mummify. The two yearlings in this draft by Champion Sire Exceed and Excel are both out of group winning mares – Lot 125 is a colt from Nediym’s Glow, who won two Gr3 races at 2, and has left a stakes placed full-brother to this colt, while Lot 442 is the third foal, a colt, from Gr2 winner Willow Creek.

We all know how well American families cross with Australian sires, and Snitzel colt, Lot 711, is out of an imported sister to USA Gr.1 winner Crisp (not to be confused with Australia’s brilliant jumper of the 1970s), and stakes winner Deer Valley.

Foxwedge, sire of Foxplay, is making his mark as a young sire, and Amarina has two yearlings by him. Lot 641 is a half-sister to Gr3 winner Big Tree, and to stakes-placed Grand Business, from the family of Riverina Charm, and Ethereal, while Lot 557, is a colt out of a young winning mare from the family of Cox Plate winner Ocean Park, Gr1 winner Critic, and Champion Sire O’Reilly.

First crop sire Deep Field has Lot 773, a filly who is the second foal of imported stakes-placed mare Golden Phoenix; while fellow first season sire Dissident has two yealings in the Amarina draft. A filly, Lot 340 is the second foal of Gr2 winner Spirit Song (a tough racemare who won eight races and was Gr1 placed), while Lot 689 is a Dissident filly out of a winning half-sister to group winner Baqah, dam of Gr1 winner Almanaar.

Rubick’s oldest crop are yearlings, and two representatives are in the Amarina draft for 2018. Lot 76 is a filly out of a young winning daughter of stakes-winner Lady Fidelia (dam of two stakes horses), while the colt, Lot 37, is the first foal of a winning half-sister to stakes winners Hofmeister and Callanish.

Other sires represented in this draft are Choisir (Lot 874), Stratum (Lot 450), Street Boss (Lots 634, 771), and Zoustar (Lots 482, 648).
