The Adelaide Magic Millions is a sale synonymous with Group 1 success for the Mill Park Stud team, having prepared Mummify, Gold Guru, Devil Moon, Divine Madonna and Undoubtedly in the past, with that elite group earning their connections a combined total in excess of $14.5 million highlighted by 17 individual Group 1 wins.

With nine colts and seven fillies, the draft comprises yearlings by many proven sires and kicks off with Lot 30, a bay colt by Redoute’s Choice’s Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes winner Master Of Design out of the Galileo mare Fartoo Flashy, the dam of Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes winner Waging War, who is himself a son of the Mill Park graduate Rebel Raider.

The Group 2-winning, Group 1-placed sprinter Catapulted was an Adelaide graduate from the farm and Lot 31, a chestnut colt from the second crop of Newgate Farm’s Eurozone is out of Fast And Loose, a winning Fastnet Rock daughter, herself a half-sister to the former Mark Kavanagh-trained sprinter from the family of Group 1 Kingston Town Classic winner Ihtsahymn.

Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Undoubtedly is one of many graduates off the farm to be sold through the Adelaide sale ring, and Lot 82, the SABOIS and BOBS Eligible filly is by Coolmore’s Group 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile-winning sire Uncle Mo out of the four-time-winning Exceed And Excel mare Kissable, a daughter of the Group 2 Reisling Slipper Trial winner Regal Kiss, herself a half-sister to the Blue Diamond winner as well as to Toorak Thunder, victorious in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Preview (C&G).

Dual Group 1 Rebel Raider, a son of the unbeaten Reset, will be represented by three in Mill Park’s draft this year highlighted by Lot 174, the bay colt out of the dual-winning Kurofone mare Reliability. The dam of three to race, all winners, the leading performer for the mare is the recent Group 3 Hobart Cup winner Pretty Punk, with this colt being a full-brother to the stakes winning mare. 

Lot 349 is the well-related Rebel Raider colt out of Just Sybil, a Listed-winning daughter of Alannan. From the family of this season’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic and Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes winner Sunlight, the current favourite for the Group 1 Golden Slipper, this colt is sure to have plenty of admirers.

A Group 1 winner on the track, and now a Group 1 producing sire, not a week goes by where Newgate Farm’s exciting son of Fastnet Rock in Foxwedge doesn’t produce a new winner, and Lot 276 is a bay filly out of the Snaadee mare Anlye, a half-sister to the dam of the dual Group 3 winner Candles. Macau Horse of the Year Golden Star, a 15 time-winner, of which four are at black type level, is the half-brother to this filly who has already been well-admired at farm inspections.

Another who has been well inspected at the farm is Lot 350, the grey filly by Cornerstone Farm’s Dalakhani out of the Tale Of The Cat half-sister to the dams of Group 1 winner Irish Lights (dam of Group 2 winner Omei Sword) and Group 2 winners La Italia and Shadowdancing.

All in all, the draft of 16 catalogued yearlings highlight a diverse range of pedigrees that will suit all buyers.
