Lot 250 is from the family of leading stallion Written Tycoon

Set in a gorgeous pocket to the north-east of Melbourne in Doreen, Daisy Hill Thoroughbreds is a 150 acre purpose built property with one overarching objective - to offer the horses the premium in pasture, fencing, shelter and general facilities, maximising development.

2018 represents the third year of yearling preparation and sale by Daisy Hill and the 3 colts and 3 fillies which will sell at the Adelaide Magic Millions under their banner are illustrative of a young farm on a rapid rise.

Lot 27 opens the Daisy Hill Adelaide account and there's no better way to do so than with a strapping colt by the sire the farm's owners Colleen and Kevin Bamford owned to win the Gr1 Melbourne Cup in Americain. With his eldest only 3YOs American is already starting to get a consistent line of winners, a list that will surely blossom as his progeny mature and step out over further distances. This colt is from Redoute's Choice mare Fair Choice, a three-time winner. Second dam Fairessa is a stakes-placed mare by Encosta de Lago and a half-sister to both dual Gr2 winner and Gr1 Caulfield Cup runner-up Grey Song, as well as SA Gr3 winner Tonz More Fun. Fourth dam Sizzles produced the electrifying Slanchyvah.

Lot 74 is the first of a pair by Champion UK Miler (and son of leading NZ based sire High Chaparral) Toronado in the draft. Again, this filly is from a quality broodmare sire in Fastnet Rock. In fact, this is the first foal of It's Madeline, a half-sister to Gr3 Naturalism Stakes winner Red Lord. Importantly, second dam Dame Cath, a Listed winner in her own right, is by breed-shaping distaff influence Zabeel. The second Toronado in the Daisy Hill Draft is Lot 250, another filly. This time she's from Husson mare Weekend Hussy, a two-time winning half-sister to South African Listed winner Tiger Quest. This is also a page with significant roots in Australia, tracing to Loyal Lyric, a half-sister to Party Miss the dam of Gr1 Blue Diamond and Gr1 Golden Slipper producing sire Written Tycoon. Loyal Lyric is herself the dam of dual Gr1 winner Anthems and Listed Black Opal winner Vocalist. This pocket of pedigree gold even extends to Gr1 Canterbury Stakes winner Holler and Gr2 Hill Stakes winner Lamasery.

Much is expected of Gr1 winner Jimmy Creed and his yearling (Lot 115) will be keenly inspected at Adelaide. This colt is from Arazi mare Millefiori. So far she's 3-from-3 in the winners column and she tracks to Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Inspired.

The penultimate lot in the Daisy Hill draft is 175, a bay filly by another first crop yearling sire carrying high hopes in Puissance de Lune. She's from a Zabeel mare in Reveal The Goddess, a sister to Listed NZ St Leger runner-up Sheezababe. This is a strong staying family including second dam and Gr1 Sydney Cup winner Honor Babe and Gr1 Doomben Cup runner-up Kiwi Golfer.

Lot 394 rounds out a terrific draft in style. He's the chestnut colt by Gr1-producing sire Oamaru Force from Starcraft mare Star Topaze, a half-sister to Singaporean Listed winner In Bloom. The dam's only runner has already saluted 3 times and this pedigree has the bedrock of class from ancestors like dual French Gr1 winner Fast Topaze and South African Gr2 winner Golden Chateau.

You'll find the Daisy Hill team for inspections in Barn 9 Row A.
