SABOIS is Thoroughbred Racing SA’s Breeders’ and Owners’ Incentive Scheme. It maximises the interest in qualified horses and provides financial rewards to breeders or nominators, owners, trainers and jockeys over and above prizemoney earned.
As a further incentive to nominate your 2016 foal for SABOIS, Thoroughbred Racing SA will schedule a two-year-old race (to be run in 2018), and a three-year-old race in 2019, both with prize money of $100,000 with each event only open to SABOIS fully qualified horses. A fully qualified horse is where both the Breeder and Owner Nomination fees have been paid.
Regardless of age, all SABOIS horses are eligible to compete for a bonus of $10,000 in SABOIS-PLUS races. A SABOIS-PLUS bonus of $10,000 will be available on selected races run throughout South Australia. Races programmed will be of distances of 1800 metres or further, in which horses entered may be of four-years-old or over.
SABOIS owner nominations for foals born in 2016 close May 31, 2018.
SABOIS eligible foals which are not “Breeder Nominated” by January 31, 2018 can be “Fully Qualified” by paying the applicable late nomination fee by June 30, 2018.
