There are only a handful of farms in Australia that can lay claim to being elite boutique broodmare operations. Kia-Ora Stud is one of these. With a storied history that's clicked into a second century, it's a production line for A-grade talent the likes of triple Gr1 winner Igugu, dual Gr1 winner and Champion sire Exceed and Excel and Gr2 Sires Produce winner Zululand. In recent years this Segenhoe nursery has also produced Magic Millions 2YO third Candika.

Kia-Ora's 2019 GCMM draft is 14 strong, including 8 colts and 6 fillies. As with most drafts of this size, it's a mixture of established sire power and the new boys. 

Lot 322 is a sound place to start looking. He's the colt by I Am Invincible from Gr2 winner Adaline, dam of 2 winners and tracing to stakes-winners Thrillster, Gotta Have Heart and HK Gr1 winning sprinter All Thrills Too.

Ten lots on is the Fastnet Rock filly from multiple stakes-winner Alberton Road (2 runners for 2 winners). High profule Gr1-winning O'Reilly colt Brutal is from this family.

Back tracking to Lot 32 and the colt by Snitzel from Pure Fun: this is a dynamic pedigree with the dam not only a Gr1 winner in the US but her half-sister also stake- placed. Belmont Gr1 winner Chelsey Flower is one of many luminaries on the page.

Lots 557 and 683 are both by Champion Australian Sire, and as mentioned earlier, product of Kia-Ora Stud in Exceed and Excel. 557 is from Zizou mare Everage, a Listed winner and Gr3 runner-up. She’s a young mare with so much upside, and family that includes Gr3 Debutante winner Alshandegha and Gr2 Yallambee Stakes winner Honalee. Lot 683 is from multiple black type winning Canadian mare Inglorious, a half-sister to Gr3 winner Dixie Strike. There's black type in every remove here.

There are also 2 lots by twice leading Australian 2YO Sire More Than Ready. Lot 508 is from US Gr3 winner Decelerator, dam of recent South African Gr2 Tombe Challenge winner Nafayes (see promotion on right hand side) while Lot 645 is from Heart Ashley, another stakes-winner from the US who has already produced a stakes performer in Australia in Ameristralia. 

The hits keep coming. Lots 272 and 383 are both by Gr1 Golden Slipper-winning leading sire Sebring. The first is from joint top 3YO Not A Single Doubt filly Villa Verde from the direct family of Champion Sire Rory's Jester. Think Gold Coast in 12 months time with this grey girl. Lot 383 is just as appealing being from Listed-winning, Gr1 runner-up Banc De Fortune (by sire colossus Galileo). And she's already produced a stakes-winner in Eagle Island. This is a page that suggests early precocity and middle distance adaptability with names like second dam Danendri and Champion Filly Faint Perfume.

Lot 84 is the first foal of exceptionally well bred Redoute's mare Rupavari, a winning daughter of Gr1 NZ 2000 Guineas winner Clean Sweep. And at the bottom of the page you'll find Champion like South Africa's Soft Falling Rain and the US star Habit.

Lot 703 is sure to have catalogues waving. She's by Leading First Season Sire Zoustar from a half-sister to 4 stake- winners including Washington Heights, Supply and Demand, Spacecraft and Phenomenons. 

On the topic of young sires, Lots 370 and 454 are both by another son of Northern Meteor in Deep Field. The first is another from the Heart Ashley family and the second is a colt from another valuable half-sister to Villa Verde in Chik Chik Boom.

Rounding out another exceptional Kia-Ora Stud draft is the filly by Street Cry's Gr1 Blue Diamond-winning son Pride of Dubai from US mare Mae Gone West, a half-sister to dual Gr1 winner of the Belmont Champagne and Futurity in Grand Slam. And she has a perfect average to date with 2 from 2 in the winner's enclosure.
