Rich Enuff (AUS)
Stunningly conformed stallion Rich Enuff

Speed, conformation and pedigree, three attributes needed for success, and with Woodside Park Stud’s Rich Enuff, the stakes-winning son of Victoria’s Leading Sire Written Tycoon, clearly having these in spades, the future bodes well.

Set for his first crop yearlings to grace the auction sale rings in 2019, anticipation is high off the back of some very encouraging weanling prices recorded in 2018, where lots sold up to $100,000 and were secured by international bloodstock agents Justin Casse and Roderick Wachman, as well as Sheamus Mills Bloodstock, Tarcoola Stud and Hallmark Stud.

As Written Tycoon’s fastest son at stud, Rich Enuff’s class was evident from the start. Making his 3YO debut at Listed level at Moonee Valley, the Ken Keys-trained colt streaked away from his rivals, pulling clear for a two and a quarter length victory in the McKenzie Stakes.

Next up in the G2 Danehill Stakes over Flemington’s famed ‘straight-six’, Rich Enuff defeated a high-class field which included the likes of G1 winners Brazen Beau, Awesome Rock, Wandjina and Go Indy Go.

A race won in the past by Black Caviar, Snitzerland, Sepoy and Fastnet Rock, Rich Enuff’s stunning performance saw the chestnut stop the clock at blistering 1:08.13 – the fastest a 3YO colt has sprinted over Flemington’s 1200m course this century.

Completing a hat trick of consecutive stakes victories, Rich Enuff stepped up to 1400m at his next outing, capturing the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude by two and a half lengths, joining G1-producing sires Helmet and Epaulette as recent winners.

A narrow second behind Shooting To Win in the G1 Caulfield Guineas at his next, Rich Enuff’s performance saw him rated as one of the leading colts of his generation.

Embarking on the next phase of his career, Rich Enuff stood his first season at Queensland’s Glenlogan Park Stud, before heading back to his now Woodside Park Stud base, where he is finishing covering another high-quality book of mares.

Covering just shy of 240 mares in his first two seasons at stud, the first of these will pass through the Magic Millions yearling sale in January, with 11 lots catalogued in the drafts of leading vendors.
