Entering its fourth decade in 2017 as one of the premier agistment facilities in the Capital Region of NSW, Mane Lodge in recent years has sold both a host of weanling and yearling winners across the spectrum of Australian sales. Two of its more high-profile graduates would be the Metropolitan / Gr3 placed performers Lone Eagle and Bugatty.

Longevity and history of success allows confidence in their 2018 Inglis Classic Draft of 5 colts and 3 fillies.

If you’re looking for speed then Lot 111 must be on your potential shopping list. He’s a colt by Fastnet Rock’s dynamic sire/son Hinchinbrook, sire so far of Gr1 winner Press Statement, as well as stakes-winners the calibre of Whispering Brook and Derryn. Plus, he’s from a Rory’s Jester mare, a champion of 2YO precocity across his decorated career as a sire and broodmare sire. In fact, this colt is the half-brother to Bugatty, runner-up in the Gr3 Chairman’s Handicap. This is a solid family that traces to 3rd dam Sober Dancer and her talented tree of, most notably, Magic Millions winner Unencumbered.

Just 11 lots later Mane Lodge presents the filly by another talented sire/son of Fastnet Rock in Smart Missile, the Leading Australian First Season Sire in 2015-2016. From a winning Snippets mare with a record of 4 winners from 5 runners, this filly also boasts a chain of US stakes class in the form of Mariensky, Julie Jalouse and Rousing Victory.

Uncle Mo is a Gr1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner and sire of Gr1 Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist. He’s also had sire success in Australia in the form of Man From Uncle, Royal Mo etc. Lot 179 is his colt from Dubawi mare To Dubawi Go. It’s her first foal and the dam is a half-sister to stakes-placed Nisos. 3rd dam is Gr1 Doomben Cup placegetter Palmyra Bay and the page descends to the talented dual Gr3 winner McClintock.

Lot 308 is a filly by Turffontein from Carlie Rose. Turffontein has had success with the likes of precocious juveniles such as Fontiton (Gr2 Blue Diamond Prelude winner), and this intelligent looking filly is a half-sister to Listed winner Yulong Xingsheng.

Sizzling’s oldest are only 2 but he is already showing he will make it as a sire. He is after all, by Champion Sire Snitzel. This is one of the premium lots in the Mane Lodge Draft. 2nd dam Natural is My Name is the dam of Champion 2YO and Gr1 Golden Slipper / Blue Diamond runner-up Zizou. It’s also the family of the devastatingly good sire Not a Single Doubt. And in terms of pedigree updates they don’t come much stronger than Oohood, a very unlucky 3rd in the recent Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude.

Speaking of superior genetics. Lot 474 is by Shantha’s Choice’s grandson in first season sire Rubick. Featuring a nice sex balanced cross of Danehill, this colt is from the family of Champion 2YO Assertive Lad via stakes-placed mare La Boisselle. Another inspection must!

Lot 630 is by Hey Doc’s sire Duporth, a continual source of winners, many at black type level. The first foal of Spread’Em, 2nd dam Harmonia is a Listed winner and half-sister to dual Gr3-placed Clear Harmony. The family traces to Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes winner Terenaba.

The final Mane Lodge offering (Lot 643) at the Classic is by young Northern Meteor son Eurozone, winner of the Gr2 Stan Fox Stakes and with his oldest being 2YOs. This filly’s dam is by Danehill Dancer and has already produced a winner from only 2 to race. It’s another classic family that highlights stakes-placed Captivation and her super family of Khaptivaan, Gr1 winner Khaptingly, Khaptrist etc. It’s a family with X Factor.
