Celebrating its 10th anniversary as an operation this year, Jazcom Thoroughbreds is set to deliver another athletic, meticulously prepared, boutique draft at the 2018 Inglis Classic.

They open their account with Lot 286, the first of three fillies on offer. She’s by emerging, four-time winning European Champion Sprinter-Miler, Olympic Glory, from Grand Lodge mare Bezzera, a half-sister to both Listed winner Immortality and stakes-placed Megadeal (dam of Listed winning / Gr1 fourth Pressing). It’s a gilt-edged stakes-producing family that has its roots in the Swettenham colours of Idol Worship (3rd Dam).

Next up are a colt and filly by Gr1 Golden Slipper-winning, Gr1-producing sire Sepoy. The colt (Lot 372) is from Encosta de Lago mare, El Shahar. It’s important to fully appreciate the Goliath that Encosta has become as a broodmare sire. Now with over 1,000 individual winners (at nearly 60 % W/R) of over $108 million in prizemoney, and including the calibre of Gr1 winners Happy Clapper, Japonisme, Sofia Rosa, Peeping and Impending, any of his broodmare daughters deserve additional consideration. This colt also has the benefit of stemming from a family which includes Gr1 winners Zip Zip Array, Niconero and Nature Strip’s sire Nicconi. Meanwhile, the Sepoy filly (Lot 622) is from a US-bred stakes-placed mare and traces to triple Gr1 winner Exotic Wood.

The Jazcom draft also includes a colt and filly by Leading Australian Frist Season Sire of 2014-2015, Hinchinbrook. Lot 256 is also from an Encosta de Lago (Watch My Toosh) mare and is her first foal. It’s an elite family that includes Theme Song (3rd Dam), a half-sister to Gr1 winners and leading sires Danewin and Commands. Interestingly, it’s also a page that includes hot first season sires Shooting To Win and Deep Field. The filly (Lot 706) is also appealing. From Dubawi mare, Diamonds of Dubawi, 3rd dam is none other than Champion Older Sprinter in Australia, the dashing Ruffles.

The final Jazcom offering (Lot 782) has recently been bolstered further by a significant pedigree update with Smart Missile colt Skyray (from a daughter of Gr1 winning 3rd dam Special) running 2nd in the Listed Wyong Magic Millions. The bay colt for sale is by Gr1-producing speed influence The Factor from speedy Rory’s Jester mare, Miss Lucille. Other than tracing to Special and her prodigiously talented family, Miss Lucille has already produced stakes winner and NZ 2000 Guineas place-getter Ever Loyal.
