With a large draft of 24 yearlings, Bhima’s Mike and Kate Fleming are really looking forward to parading their 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale draft at the new Riverside Stables complex.

Focusing on a mix of proven stallions as well as first crop sires, Bhima’s first filly through the ring will be the New Zealand bred Lot 28, a daughter of the Gr3-winning, multiple Gr1 placed Proisir, a full-brother to Gr1 Caulfield Guineas winner Divine Prophet. Out of the Volksraad mare Safari Sunset, a sister to the dam of Gr2 winner Dixie Blossom and Listed winner Able Green – Excel (Mac), it is the family of Gr1 performers Zonda, Magnolia Hall and Surprize Surprize, with recent Listed Tasmanian Guineas winner Wolfendale an update to the second dam.

Lot 34, a colt by exciting young sire All Too Hard, is the first foal of the stakes-placed Savabeel mare Savannah Dancer, from a prolific Gr1 family of Critic, Our Pompeii, Ocean Park, Prince Kaapstad, and Champion Sire O’Reilly to name a few.

Right on target to be awarded back to back Champion Sire titles, the progeny of super-sire Snitzel are always in demand and Lot 189 is likely to be another. Out of the General Nediym mare Tripled, a half-sister to Gr1 Doncaster Handicap winner Triple Honour and also to Fastnet Rock’s Gr1-winning juvenile Heroic Valour, this filly not only has pedigree, but the looks to match.

Bred on the pedigree cross that has produced 20 winners from 23 runners highlighted by multiple Gr1 winners Tarzino and Werther, Lot 210 is a filly by Tavistock out of a Zabeel sister to Gr3 winner Tavarnelle, from the family of Singapore Horse of the Year and Champion Zirna.

The progeny of first crop sire Olympic Glory, the triple Gr1-winning son of Choisir were extremely well-received at the recent Magic Millions yearling sale, Bhima’s trio have already been widely admired at farm inspections. Lot 235 is the third foal of the Gr1 placed Absolute Faith from the family of Champion 3YO Colt and triple Gr1 winner Helenus, while Lot 309 is a brown filly out of the dual Listed winner Causeway Queen, a half-sister to Solar Charged, who is in turn the dam of this season’s super impressive Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Sunlight.

Another first crop sire whose progeny have enjoyed sale ring success so far is the Gr2-winning, Gr1-placed Deep Field, a full-brother to the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting To Win. The first yearling to sell in the draft is Lot 22, a bay colt by Deep Field from the family of Champion European 3YO Colt and dual Gr1 winner Workforce, while Lot 253 is the half-brother to Exceed And Excel’s dual Listed winner Eximius from the family of Golden Slipper winner Mossfun.

One sure to appeal to the South African market is Lot 411, a bay colt out of Gayika, a full-sister to Champion, Horse of the Year and multiple Gr1 winner Igugu. The dam of three foals to race, the most recent update sees current three-year-old Overdose, a recent winner in South Africa for Candice Bass-Robinson.
