Real Impact is the first son of Japan’s hero sire Deep Impact to stand in Australia. He fulfilled the promise of his name by winning each country’s top-rated race in the mile category, in Tokyo and Sydney.
Real Impact could not have made a better first impression at the 2015 Sydney Autumn Carnival when he scored a tremendous victory, off a three-month break, in the 1500-metre ATC George Ryder S. G1, defeating Criterion. A fortnight later he ran a brave, but luckless second in the ATC Doncaster Mile G1, starting from barrier 18 and giving 4kg to the winner Kermadec.

Real Impact displayed his ability early in the breeding and racing powerhouse of Japan. From three starts at two, he won sensationally on debut and was twice second in Group 1 and Group 2 company – beaten only by Japan’s Champion 2YO Colt Grand Prix Boss.
At just his sixth race start Real Impact won the Tokyo Yasuda Kinen G1 over 1600 metres in a staggering 1:32 flat, the first three-year-old ever to win the race. Like the George Ryder, the Yasuda Kinen is rated among the World’s Best Group One Races over the past three years, above the George Main, the Chipping Norton and the Doncaster.
Awarded a Timeform rating of 124, Real Impact retired to stud in 2016 in Japan & Australia with $5.6 million prizemoney.
His sire Deep Impact has rapidly established himself among the world’s elite stallions. Nine General & 2YO Sire premierships and 98 stakeswinners, including 30 Group 1 winners, make him the worthiest of successors to his legendary sire Sunday Silence.
Real Impact’s dam Tokio Reality has also produced the 2017 HKJC Queen Elizabeth II Cup G1 winner Neorealism and Group 1-placed stakeswinner I’ll Love Again. Damsire Meadowlake sired 54 stakeswinners including Champion US 2YO Filly Meadow Star.
Real Impact’s likely genetic suitability for Danehill-line mares is supported by his sire’s success with mares by sons of the great breed-shaper. From only 15 runners out of mares by Danehill sons, Deep Impact has left 11 winners including his Arrowfield barnmate, dual Group 1 winner Mikki Isle.
