Clean And Green
Exceptional Gr1 talent Palentino (pic: Magic Millions)

Cult hero The Cleaner was bred in Tasmania - the island that claims the cleanest air in the world. And dual Gr1 winner Palentino (Australian Guineas, Makybe Diva Stakes) and million dollar earner was sold at the 2014 Tasmania Yearling Sale for $85,000. No wonder this sale is regarded as having one of the country’s best value offerings. The big chestnut colt is still in work, and more is yet to come for this miliion dollar-earning Tasmanian Sale alumni.

The 2017 Magic Millions Tasmania Yearling Sale may be only small as sales go – 133 yearlings will be offered on 16 February 2017 at Launceston’s Inveresk Showgrounds – but those small numbers, perhaps thanks to that clean, fresh air, have traditionally produced a rich vein of key graduates.

The Cleaner embodied the front running, never give up, attitude that made him the people’s champion. Now residing at Living Legends, The Cleaner won 19 races including the Gr2 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes twice; and $1.3 million. He was a bargain yearling selling to Mick Burles for only $10,000 at the 2009 Tasmania Yearling Sale.

Other recent standout graduates include Hot Dipped, Kenjorwood, Royal Rapture, and Triple Asset. The 2017 catalogue of 133 yearlings comprises representatives of 49 different stallions, and include relations to Triple Asset, Up Cups, Banca Mo, Barysh Quest, Black ‘n’ Tough, as well as yearlings out of stakes winning mares Di’s Angel, Ehor, Galvanized, Joey Jo Jo, Mermaid’s Flannel, Superfly and Tough Chik.
