All Too Hard-Devil Moon yearling colt (video: Champion 2YO Entisaar)

Vinery Stud has a great record with their yearlings, selling horses such as Gr1 winners Shamus Award, Samaready, Atlantic Jewel this Spring’s Darley Stakes winner Delectation. Other recent stakes-winning sales graduates from the historic Segenhoe Valley nursery include Rubick, Afleet Esprit, Commanding Jewel, Heart Testa this year Champion S.Afr 2yo Entisaar (More Than Ready).

At the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale in 2016, Vinery will present a draft of 19 yearlings including eight by their freshman sire All Too Hard, whose weanlings were highly sought-after earlier this year. Vinery’s Adam White said, “We’re really looking forward to getting a nice bunch to Magic Millions to kick him off at the sales. Of our yearlings, five are from stakes-winning mares including Gr1 winners Devil Moon (Lot 156) and Rightly So (Lot 540).”

In addition, Lot 90 is out of speed mare, Gr3 winner Chakvetadze, Lot 440 is a half-brother to group winner Platinum Kingdom, Lot 473 is out of 2YO Gr2 winner Night War, and Lot 549 is a colt first foal of stakes winner Roman Treasure. That’s an impressive starting point!

From a red hot first season sire to a proven Champion around the world, More Than Ready has seven yearlings, highlighted by Lot 571, a full-sister to new QLD Stallion Better Than Ready. Lot 653 is a colt out of early 2YO stakes winner Sweet Cheeks, and Lot 669 is a half-brother to several Stakes performers inc U.S Gr3 winner Blueeyesintherein.

Vinery also has two yearlings by Smart Missile whose popular first crop at the 2015 sale has already produced the goods with a stakes winner in Smart ‘n’ Sassy. Lot 396 is the first foal out of Luminova (Zabeel) whilst Lot 366 is out of a winning More Than Ready mare whose first foal is a 2YO winner.

Other sires represented in this draft are by one of this seasons leading sires of Stakes winners Casino Prince (Lot 19) whilst Congrats has a well-related colt with plenty of appeal (Lot 521), who is a half-brother to South Africa’s Champion 2YO Filly of last season and Gr1 winner Entisaar from a tough Australian family.
