Bullet Train
Bullet Train is an exceptional type

(Sadler's Wells-Kind, by Danehill)
Stood 2013 at Bowness Stud for $11,000

Bullet Train is one year older than his famous three-quarter brother, Frankel, and he proved his ability early by winning his only start as a 2YO. As a 3YO, he won the Gr3 Derby Trial Stakes, then was sent out in the Epsom Derby at 13/2 ($7.50) but didn’t stay in a race where Workforce broke the track record. As an older horse, his race record was impacted by having every one of his starts as a 4YO and 5YO in the same races as Frankel. In six Gr1 starts (all won by Frankel), Bullet Train finished fourth on two occasions, notably in the Gr1 Lockinge Stakes and the Gr1 Sussex Stakes.

A son of 14-time Champion Sire Sadler’s Wells, who has left 294 stakes winners and 80 individual Gr1 winners, Bullet Train is one of many sons of Sadler’s Wells at stud. Others include Frankel’s sire Galileo (205 stakes winners), Montjeu (118), El Prado (83), Barathea (81), High Chaparral (75) for example.

Bullet Train’s dam Kind is by Danehill, who needs no introduction down under. She was one of his 347 stakes winners, winning two Listed races in the UK. At stud, Kind has been outstanding, with all five of her named foals being winners, and four of them stakes winners – headed of course by the unbeaten ten-time Gr1 winner Frankel. Kind is out of a Gr3 winner who herself left four stakes winners including Gr1 winner Powerscourt.

Bullet Train has 115 live foals in his first crop and 10 of them are entered at the 2016 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.  Of his 31 weanlings offered for sale in 2015, 25 sold at a $14,750 average.
