Sir Prancealot (IRE)
Sir Prancealot, already a top sire of 2YOs in Europe

(Tamayuz–Mona Em, by Catral)
Stands 2017 at Cornerstone Stud for $16,500

Sir Prancealot showed plenty of ability as a 2YO, winning three of his six starts including the Gr2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster before injury curtailed his career.

As expected with such a brilliant juvenile, Sir Prancealot has started his northern hemisphere stallion career with a bang. His first crop of juveniles includes six stakes horses, including Gr3 winner Madam Dancealot. This filly is out of a Danehill mare, something that Australian breeders should take particular notice of, and his Listed winner Sir Dancealot is out of a Danehill Dancer mare, making this cross stand out among Sir Prancealot’s six stakes horses.

By young Gr1 winning sire Tamayuz, Sir Prancealot is one of 14 stakes winners from the Gulch line stallion. Other Gr1 winners by Tamayuz include Gr1 Haydock Sprint Stakes winner G Force, and Gr1 Poule d’Eassai des Pouliches (French One Thousand Guineas) winner Precieuse. Tamayuz is from the family of Urban Sea (dam of Galileo and Sea the Stars), so he brings a powerful sires pedigree to South Australia.

Out of Listed winner Mona Em (a daughter of Storm Cat’s son Catrail), Sir Prancelot is a half-brother to stakes winner Nice Applause, and to the dam of this season’s stakes winner Hurricane.

Sir Prancealot offers a great outcross that has already sparked with the Danehill sire line, and he is a speedy addition to the South Australian sire ranks. Picks himself as a genuine chance.
