“In his short career, Kiss And Make Up showed such brilliance and speed. He has a perfect colt’s temperament, he is good natured, intelligent, easy to work with and has a wonderfully competitive spirit. I look forward to purchasing his progeny” – Gai Waterhouse, Trainer of Kiss And Make Up
A superb colt with pedigree and performance, Kiss And Make Up has the distinction of being the only juvenile to conquer and defeat Champion two-year-old and Golden Slipper winner Capitalist, surging away from him to win the Group II ATC Todman Stakes (1200m) by more than two lengths. The stunning victory puts him in the same class as top sires General Nediym, Exceed And Excel, Charge Forward, Written Tycoon, last year’s champion first season sire Smart Missile and Golden Slipper winners Pierro and Vancouver.
Retired early due to a knee injury, the third highest rated two-year-old of his generation, Kiss And Make Up broke his maiden on debut at Canterbury over 1200 metres beating subsequent stakes-winner Detective and Group I winning filly Foxplay.
Bred and sold at Magic Millions by John Singleton’s renowned Strawberry Hill Stud, Kiss And Make Up is by Champion Sire More Than Ready, the sire of over 160 stakes-winners worldwide including Golden Slipper winner Sebring. His line includes champion two-year-old filly Fashions Afield, winner of the AJC Sires Produce Stakes and a member of top class Australian speed female family whose damsire is Redoute’s Choice.
