Furnaces ticks all the boxes for sire success with an exemplary bloodline and proven track performance. The brilliant Gr3-winning juvenile is the direct progeny of emerging sire of sires Exceed And Excel and boasts three brilliant wins over 1100m.
A homebred for Darley, Furnaces was the early favourite for the 2016 Golden Slipper following a scintillating pre-Christmas debut victory winning by over six lengths highlighting his precocity and abundant natural speed. An explosive winner of the Gr3 ATC Kindergarten Stakes, Furnaces was second to Golden Slipper winner Vancouver in the Gr2 ATC Todman Stakes and third to champion sprinter Chautauqua in the Gr2 MVRC Ian McEwen Stakes in his first start as a three-year-old.
Furnaces continued his scorching run on the racetrack having won the Hawkesbury RC XXXX Gold Rush in track-record time. Although winning narrowly he shaved more than half a second off the track record to beat the older sprinters he was racing against.
