Amovatio, Bull Point, Sister Madly, Cute Emily, Better Than Ready, Tahni Dancer, A Country Girl, Rocketeer, Revolving Door, Golden Spin, Permissive, Miss Wonderland. Quite an imposing list, and all recent stakes performers to have been prepared and sold by the canny boutique operation of Edinburgh Park.

The last name on this list is central to three of six yearlings in another fashionable Easter Draft.

The first is Lot 31, the Snitzel filly from Smart Strike mare, Alice’s Smart. The full sister to the Gr3 placed and very progressive filly Miss Wonderland. This is a gilt edged opportunity to not only purchase a filly with serious racetrack appeal but also tremendous residual upside. It’s a very contemporary page featuring the World Thoroughbred Ranking’s Equal Leading Male of 2015 and dual Gr1 winner Criterion, Gr3 Carbine Club winner and more recently Gr1 placed Comin’ Through, and stakes winning fillies Varenna Miss and Silently. And of course one of the best to come from the alluvial pastures of Edinburgh Park in Bull Point.

The second filly (Lot 355) from this family in the Edinburgh Park draft is by Gr1 Golden Slipper winning producer Medaglia d”Oro. From Smoke Glacken mare Smokin’ Alice she’s from a half-sister to the dam of Miss Wonderland and this is her first foal. Obviously another super chance to tap into an amazing black type family.

Rounding out the Miss Wonderland distaff bonanza is Lot 265, the filly by Pierro from Nothin’ But A Dream. As was always anticipated, Pierro is starting to sire 2YOs with precocity. Gr1 Blue Diamond performer Tulips is the most recent top shelf example. This is another first foal from a half-sister to the dam of Miss Wonderland.

Three of the offerings on the Edinburgh Park ticket are by Miss Wonderland’s Gr1 Golden Slipper winning sire Sebring. He’s also the sire of Criterion and Gr1 winning sire Dissident.

Lot 68 is the first of the Sebring’s to go through the ring and is the full sister to dual winner Serena Bay, a $200,000 filly from the 2016 draft who earned glowing praise from purchaser Gai Waterhouse. Dam Caiguna, a WA stakes winner by Dubai Destination, is currently two-for-two in the winners’ department. This is a nice family with distance scope, tracing to third dam and WA St Leger winner All Washed Up.

The second of the Sebring fillies (Lot 233) is from Anabaa mare Miss Marx. Not only did this cross produce Dissident but has a winning strike rate of 75 per cent. Anabaa is also an elite broodmare sire boasting 75 individual stakes winners for in excess of $105 million in earnings. Add to this a great pedigree including not only a stakes winning dam but precocious black type winners like Loud Speaker and Sahara Zed.

Lot 403 also exploits the Sebring / Anabaa cross and is a full sister to Gr3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude runner-up and Gr2 Sires’ Produce placed Revolving Door. Dam Turnstiles, stakes-placed half-sister to stakes-placed Angel Bee has also produced Gr3 second Golden Spin from only 3 foals. What is particularly enticing about this filly is that second dam Zabeels Angel is by another all-conquering broodmare sire in Zabeel. This filly really has scope and looks like being another high quality member of an emerging family.
