Fairways Bloodstock
Lot 121's pedigree features Gr1 winner Your Song

Perfectly positioned in the picturesque and thriving Victorian breeding mecca of Nagambie, Fairways Bloodstock has meticulously prepared 6 classy yearlings for the upcoming Adelaide Magic Millions.

Three in particular are worthy of headlines.

Two are by highly exciting freshman sire prospect Fighting Sun. Lot 121 is the first and is from well-pedigreed Commands mare Jesting. This being only her second foal, her first, Derasa, is showing 2YO promise having already placed. This is a serious pedigree. Second dam Joking Apart is a Rainbow Quest half-sister to Horse of the Year and Champion European older horse Fantastic Light. It also features Gr1 winner and emerging Widden sire Your Song, as well as Gr2 ATC Pago Pago stakes winner Tarquin. The second Fighting Sun offering is Lot 256. This imposing chestnut filly is a half-sister to the lightly raced and already four-time stakes placed mare A Lotta Love. Dam Sadler’s Brigg, by Champion sire Montjeu, has also produced eight-time winner Lord da Vinci. It’s a pedigree with depth and scope, tracing to flying filly and Blue Diamond runner-up Yachtie, as well as NZ Horse of the Year and Champion Sprinter Seachange.

The third of six yearlings guaranteed to cause a buzz is Lot 231, the brown filly by First Season Sire Needs Further from Queen’s Own. Two points are of interest here. Firstly, Needs Further is currently fifth on the First Season Sire Table and importantly is the only First Season Sire in the top 25 who has produced a stakes-winner to date. Secondly, this filly is a half-sister to dynamic, gritty mare Lady Lynette, a five-time stakes winner and Gr1 runner-up. All-up Queen’s Own has produced 6 winners from only 9 to race.

Rounding out an impressive boutique draft are yearlings by Eurozone from triple winning mare That’s Karma (Lot 306), from the family of BTC Doomben Cup winner Akhenaton and VATC Blue Diamond winner Paint; Lot 324 by Black Caviar’s brother Moshe from Wajanaat, a page splashed with 8 black type winners and 4 stakes placed performers in the first 4 dams and finally, Lot 412, by Strategic Maneuver from Stratum mare Miss Confidential. Strategic Maneuver has already produced a filly the calibre of Gr3 winner Tempt Me Not in only a few seasons at stud. While from a distaff perspective, Miss Confidential is a half-sister to the speedy NZ stakes winner and ARC Karaka Million runner-up Riding Shotgun.
