Lot 379 is by boom sire Artie Schiller

Owned by the famous Haigh’s Chocolates family, Balcrest Stud has supported the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale for a long time. And has been churning out winners for just as long such as multiple stakes winner Pipkin, Adelaide graduate Go Cart, and recent stakes horse Idatwo.

Balcrest Stud will present seven yearlings at the 2017 MM Adelaide Sale. First season sire Akeed Mofeed has had plenty of opportunities as befits a Hong Kong Derby winner, and Lot 223 is a filly from Balcrest’s homebred stakes winner Pipkin, who also ran third in the Gr1 South Australian Oaks. She has left two winners to date including Darwin Derby winner Host of the Party. Balcrest will also take Lot 105 by Akeed Mofeed through the ring for AJ Crabb & Sons. This filly is from stakes placed winner Go Lizzy, whose first two foals have won 7 races between them. First seasons sire and Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Unencumbered’s filly, Lot 366, is a half sister to stakes placed Idatwo from the family of Gr2 winner Entrancing.

Dalakhani is a proven Gr1 sire internationally, and his oldest Australian crop are 2YOs this season. His colt, Lot 12, is out of stakes placed mare Ambika who won five races, and all three of her foals to race are winners. Lot 13 is a half sister to Ambika, by Ambidexter, and these two lots are from the family of Gr1 Goodwood Handicap winner Ambala.

Black Caviar’s city winning brother Moshe has started his career well with stakes winner Moshki in his first crop. His colt, Lot 45, is the second foal of a young winning mare, who is out of a daughter of a full sister to 2YO stakes winner Sweet Rajah. The other proven sire with a yearling in the Balcrest draft is Artie Schiller, whose son Flying Artie hit the headlines after his Coolmore Stud Stakes victory. Lot 379 is a filly from a winning mare whose five foals to race are all winners; and collectively they’ve won 29 races. This is the family of Pipkin and Lot 223.
